Inspired by Nature, In AWE of the Universe!

I am a huge fan of the acrylic fluid art that has enabled me to create unique pour painted backgrounds and contemporary collages of realistic foregrounds in my paintings.

I am an engineer-turned-artist.  After working nearly 30 years in manufacturing engineering at General Motors, I retired to pursue a career as an artist, and in 2012 earned a Bachelor of Studio Arts degree at Oakland University’.

I push the boundaries of common practice with my larger  painting surfaces, many of which I make myself.  I really enjoy exploring the possibilities of using new mediums and paints.  The acrylic painting activities really feed this enjoyment as new techniques and ideas are generated almost daily.

I take classes at Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center and have attended numerous artist’s workshops, by professional artists who’s work I admire, such as Ed Duff, Camille Przdowek, Shelby Keefe, and Leslie Saeta.

As a member of many local artist groups, I have exhibited work in many local venues. I also  do commission work in various genres (check out my portfolio page for examples).
